FREE FILM CODES or FILM IN WHICH THERE APPEAR EDGE LETTERING, SPROCKET HOLES, DIRT PARTICLES, AND.........DATE CODES?*

I made a "new" old date code chart used for dating the manufacturing year of a piece of film stock.

It basically uses the same format as the well known Sabucat one (respect!), which I had been continually xeroxing over the years.(Hopefully) this version is clean, modifiable, and printable on a single letter sized sheet of paper.

I've also squeezed in the more recently/contemporarily used Kodak Keycode Date Codes; the Kodak Plant of Origin Codes; Dupont; and Fuji.

Most of the chart comes from Kodak Publication No. TI-2660, which itself uses lots of information collected by the East Anglian Film Archive (respect!).

I'm "releasing" these files under a Creative Commons license; I hope others get creative and share and/or modify accordingly. Corrections and comments are also appreciated.

A PDF, DOC, and HTM are all available for download here:

Be aware: the chart makes use of the DejaVu Sans font, which is both "free as in freedom" and happens to have good Unicode support (important for the symbols!). If you want it to display properly in the non-PDF formats, you will need to have this font installed on your system. The font can be downloaded here: http://dejavu-fonts.org/wiki/Main_Page or here.

*DATE CODES do not actually appear in George Landow's film
